Biographical abstract: Carola Böhm's research has concentrated on the issues related to the delivery of music and its related information over wide area networks. She holds degrees in musicology, computer science and electrical engineering. In recent years her research has focussed on music information retrieval, time-based media and its storage and delivery, music data structures, digital libraries for performing arts and object-oriented technologies for music applications. She has also been involved in evolving standards groups.
Research interests: Music information representation, storage and managment, object-oriented technologies for music applications, standards development, music technology education and technology for music education, music data structures and encoding languages, creative pull productions, systematic musicology.
